History

In 1964 Gordon and Jean Bliss purchased the farm, including the house, barn, and approximately 100 acres of land. This was to become a "hobby" farm for the Blisses and their 7 children, all of whom grew up on the farm with the horses, cows, beef cattle, chickens, pigs, goats and sheep. They named their farm "Blissful Meadows".

Dotted throughout the landscape of Blissful Meadows, you will find numerous pieces of antique farm equipment that were once used to farm the land.
A few of the machines have come from locals, whom, upon seeing the collection, have offered their own machines to be restored and displayed for all to see.

Named for the historic "Scadden Silver Mine" at the base of the ravine, this hole features a large rock ledge at the approach. The green is nestled between the rock ledge and the embankment to the rear. This is one of the most scenic holes on the golf course.

In 1988, construction of the course began, with Gordon, Jean, Kevin, and Cindy as equal partners in the project. The front nine opened in 1991, followed shortly by the back nine, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Bliss family. For over a decade, the four of them, with the support of additional family members, worked tirelessly to establish and grow Blissful Meadows into a premier golf destination.

Blissful Meadows remains family-owned and operated by Gordon and Jean, with the support of their daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and a dedicated team of staff members. To this day, the spirit of family, tradition, and a love for the game remains at the heart of Blissful Meadows, creating a warm and welcoming experience for all who visit.
